This scientific lecture aims to discuss the identification of EGPA in individuals with asthma and highlight the importance of co-care between rheumatology and respiratory medicine. This lecture will begin by providing an overview of EGPA, its clinical manifestations, and the challenges associated with differentiating it from severe asthma. The crucial identification of distinctive clinical features, such as refractory asthma, peripheral eosinophilia, and systemic symptoms, which serve as beacons for the presence of EGPA, will be discussed. Diagnostic tools encompassing imaging, laboratory tests, and biopsy techniques are explored, focusing on their utility in distinguishing EGPA from asthma. Concomitantly, the lecture will then shift its focus to the collaborative efforts required from rheumatologists and respiratory physicians in managing EGPA patients.
