Summary: | This article aims at characterizing 1) the experience of death as something that one must sooner or later face, resorting to Heidegger’s claims on the personal aspect of death and on the issue
of “delay”; 2) the consequences of the above claims in relation to
the “unauthentic death” and to the notion of responsibility; and 3)
the concept of transcendence as the triumph over the life-dead
dichotomy. Death is seen as an empty sign that cancels all other
referents and determines the transfer of teleological values. However, all that transcends is, at the same time, in and out of the world. |
