Summary:The article highlights the production and the commercialization of organic and agroecological food in the city of Canguçu and the role of public fairs in the intermediation of the producer-consumer relationship. The perspective of producers related to the Regional Association of Agroecological Producers of the Southern Region (ArpaSul) and the Union of Community Associations of the Interior of Canguçu (Unaic) was evident. It was observed the acting of the agricultural activity on family properties in June, July and August 2016, when the interviews with the producers were accomplished. The development of the public fairs was monitored an October, November and December 2016, when the interviews with the consumers were realized, allowing to reach the desired results of the research.
