Description
Summary:The number of myofibroblasts, the wall thickness of pulmonary arteries of small caliber, and degree of pulmonary fibrosis by Ashcroft scale were assessed in biopsy samples of pulmonary tissue in patients with sarcoidosis and nonspecific interstitial pneumonia. The data obtained were compared with the efficiency of patient therapy with system glucocorticoids. It was found that resistance to steroid therapy in sarcoidosis patients was determined by increase in the number of myofibroblasts in pulmonary tissue, their appearance within interalveolar septa and wasn’t associated with the expression of pulmonary fibrosis and the level of pulmonary diffusion capacity. Hormonal resistance in non-specific interstitial pneumonia correlated to the thickness of pulmonary arteries of small caliber.
