description This paper presents a reliable load flow algorithm for radial distribution systems. The proposed algorithm exploits the particular topological structure of the radial distribution system. A system of algebraic equations which describe the steady state performance of the radial system is derived based on the relation between the nodal currents and the lateral currents. Different types of load models can be easily handled. The presented method is tested on several radial distribution systems. The results obtained reveal the robustness and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm for solving load flow problem in radial distribution system.
