| description | The Mardin province, forms the study area, has a important tourism potential. With this potential, the study area has begin to get important especially in domestic tourism in the last periods. In this study, it is aimed to determine profile and touristical behaviours of the domestic tourist who visits the region. According to the analysis results, the tourist are more men and youngs. Their educational levels are high. These features shows the obligation of development in more cultural facilities which provides cultural needs of the visitors in the study area. On the contrary, the tourist’s income are low and middle. This has increased the number of the tourist who accommodate by their relatives and friends in the study area. Consequently, this has caused low spending in the region. Therefore, accommodation facilities must be varied suitable for each tourist groups budget. By the arrival to the area, the role of travel agencies and tour operations as sourch of information is low. Because of this reason, the accommodation facilities must take contact especially with specialist tour operations and travel agencies. Having different cultures and interesting architecture structure have been seen as the most important features of the study area. This resuts is important from the point view of determining touristic image of the region |
