At the moment the amount of renewable energies (wind energy, solar power, hydropower, biomass) on the total primary energy consumption in the EU is about 6% (EC-White paper, 1997). The EU envisages raising the amount of renewable energies from currently 6% up to 12% until the year 2010. |
