| Summary: | This article presents the National Edition of Alcide De Gasperi’s correspondence project (www.epistolariodegasperi.it). An introduction about digital editions, where some examples of the publication of letters in digital form are offered, is followed by a description of the project, of the reasons why the online edition was chosen and of the technical features of the software for the collection of metadata, digital images and transcriptions. Finally, after a description of the methods for the publication of correspondence on the open access platform of the National Edition, the future developments of the publishing initiative, especially in terms of browsing the records in the database, are summarized.
