Summary:The article analyzes the Strategy of State National Policy and other normative documents of recent years that determine the main directions of interethnic relations development in Russia. Having considered the specifics of interethnic relations in the Russian Federation, the authors assess the prospects for the formation of the Russian civil nation. According to the conclusion of the authors, interethnic contradictions can be removed within the framework of all-Russian patriotism, which is a consolidating factor of society. In the context of the consolidation of society, the article examines the development of political science in Russia, which pays ever more attention to the domestic issues, including ethno-political issues. The statistics on the theses on political sciences defended in Russia are given for the first time.
