Description
Summary:In none of thes cases reported was their any morbility. There was no recurrence of pain and in all, no loss of sensation of the face took place. However, the decompression of the trigeminal root, does not in every case cure the neuralgia. Various authors report recurrences, varyng between 10 and 30 per cent, but when these cases are re-operated, the pain almost never returns. The great advantege of taarhoj's operation decompression over the classic resection of the nerve root is based on the conservation of normal sensation in the face and the absence of paresthesias so frequent in the latter operation, which in the opinion of many patients are more serious and unbearable than the proper tic douloureux.
