Description
Summary:In Cameroon, school guidance is the thing least shared within the educational community. Guidance counselor, true professional of school guidance, is made key and sometimes seen as a luxury, sometimes as sinecure. Given this state of affairs, this article describes and analyzes the process of orientation of Cameroonian students. A sample of 183 students from Catholic University of Central Africa and University of Yaoundé I have made a report on their realization process of their career choice by answering a questionnaire about their history of school life. The use of data by means of statistical analysis to quantitative ones, and content for those qualitative results, demonstrate that the academic guidance of students has made in reference of early forms of professional identity, by a priori construction under the pressure of social conformity and a posteriori projection of reconstruction of a satisfactory self-concept. At the end of the observation and analysis of collected data, we lay down in the issue part of the work, some hypothesis to be verifying in future studies.
