In Brazil the Federal Constitution of 1988 established that the supply of basic education is the duty of the State, and the initial series of elementary school is the responsibility of the municipalities, which are challenged to allocate resources effectively to present better results each year. This paper analyzes the efficiency of municipal public spending in the initial series of elementary school in 109 municipalities in the State. |
