description There is a large body of research literature on the Russian Cultural Committee in Belgrade and its separate “structural divisions” – the Russian Scientific Institute, the Russian Public Library, the Publishing Commission, music, art and theatre schools. However too little attention is paid to Russian émigré representatives’ personal engagement in Committee’s activity. Our article is, essentially, one of the first works on that subject. It tells about the attempts of the Russian Cultural Committee to achieve I.A. Bunin’s cooperation. The article uses materials of national and foreign archives, including: the State Archive of the Russian Federation, Russian Empire Foreign Policy Archive at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts Archive, Leeds Russian Archive.
