description Laryngotracheal resection is the treatment of choice for most patients with tracheal stenosis. Anesthesia and postoperative management for aryngotracheal resection involves certain problems associated with the occurrence of postoperative complications. This article discusses a clinical case of successful patient's management after resection of a lengthy portion of the trachea with the resulting postoperative laryngeal paralysis. The possibility of using high-flow oxygen therapy in combination with traditional oxygenation through a tracheostomy tube in order to prevent the development of postoperative acute respiratory failure is considered.
