description Photosynthesis-light intensity relationship in nanoplankton, net plankton, and bentic plants from the Gulf of Gdańsk were determined and the relevant curves plotted. Based on the curves, seasonal variability of some parameters characteristic of gas exchange, i.e. compensation point (Pc), Ik, photosynthesis saturation point (ps), photosynthesis maximum (Pm), and respiration (R) were examined. Plants from the Gulf of Gdańsk were found to have low light requirements, which indicates their shadow tolerance.
