Summary:A new strategy of management of patients with signs of alcoholic dependence based on the multi-level biopsycosocial approach presupposes complex therapeutic programs with use of innovative drugs and active participation of patients in this process. Within this strategy aimed at reduction of alcohol consumption in patients with the diagnosed alcohol addiction an innovative drug Nalmefen – a modulator of the double-action opioid system is tested as as a result of the comparative randomized studies and meta-analysis methods its safety and effectiveness are proved. A new tactics of the adjuvant therapy with use of Nalmefen becomes more widely used in Russia.
