description According to many linguists, a culture can exist only in comparison with the ‘other’ culture. In other words, a culture’s or a people’s identity may be created only by competing with the ‘other’ culture or people. In our paper, we intend to highlight the identity of the Romanian culture in contrast to the English one and attempt to resolve the discrepancies between them.
