Description
Summary:Private Healthcare business is important to developing economies as they are less populated hence imperative for emergency healthcare assistance since public hospitals are overburdened and short staffed. These objectives are important for Zimbabwe since Covid-19 wreaked havoc on the country`s healthcare industry in ways no one expected. In Zimbabwe, state hospitals were overburdened, so those with more disposable income flocked to private hospitals. The private hospital faced challenges of more patients and speed to attend to patients who require emergencies in order to cope with new healthcare trends brought on by the pandemic. Operational costs remained high yet innovation provides an opportunity for cost management and improving chances of success. In view of these possible contributions, this paper sought to establish whether strategic innovation can improve success of private healthcare business. This paper contributes to literature on technology acceptance, strategic innovation, and success of private healthcare business. To achieve that, the researchers reviewed and developed a conceptual model using literature on strategic innovation, technology acceptance, and private healthcare performance. The model and paper at large are original in that it takes a strategic innovation and developing country perspective.
