Summary:The article presents a comprehensive analysis of the structural and planning framework of the city of Zelenodolsk, spatial characteristics of its built environment, and development of the open public spaces. Spatial and environmental morphotypes, their boundaries and morphological features were determined. General recommendations for the imagery of Zelenodolsk’s design code are given. The findings can provide a basis for the development of local environmental and spatial regulations of Zelenodolsk for its historically established areas, new construction, and reconstruction zones.
