| Summary: | Today digitalisation is considered an important component of socio-economic development and part of the global agenda. Topics related to processes of digitalisation of economies have attracted special attention due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, which started in 2020, has shown the importance of digital technologies and revealed various socio-economic problems in different countries. This article regards digitalisation as a factor in the achievement of a more sustainable global economy. Weaknesses and strengths of the digital economy as well as corresponding opportunities and threats are identified based on a monographic study. An assessment of the impact that digital technologies have on the process of achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals included in the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is carried out. It is substantiated that these goals ensure the most comprehensive approach to the measurement of progress towards the achievement of a more sustainable global economy. |
