In the Middle Age there were in Kosovo lakes of Svrčin and Janjevo, and beside them numerous palaces of Serbian rulers, archbishops and bishops: Svrčin, Pauni, Nerodimlje, Porodimlje, Nekudim, Lipljan, Gračanica, Priština and Vučitrn.
