Summary:For many years in developed countries and even countries in South EastAsia, attempts have been made to promote the principles of sustainable andactive transportation oriented to walking and cycling among people. In orderto increase the safety of cycling and walking, these countries have preparedspecial routes which in addition to the beauty index, they promote andencourage cycling. Although a bit late, this project has been implemented invarious cities of Iran. People of Kashan like the inhabitants of the ancientcities of Iran have a long history in the use of bicycles. Nowadays that theuses of motor vehicles have created many problems; studying the role of thebicycles in urban transportation system seems necessary. The aim of thisstudy was to investigate the barriers to cycling and effective factors in theusing growth of it in Kashan. After library studying and literature review,our data was collected by survey using a questionnaire and were analyzed
