Summary:In this article, our goal is to study the symbolic dimension of public ceremonies celebrating the development and the promotion of an enterprise’s charter. Indeed, not only do the main players of an enterprise write and sign these documents, they also need to celebrate their commitments by making an event of their charter’s signature through more or less prestigious ceremonies. This celebration of the enterprise’s commitments needs to be questioned in order to understand its meaning: what is at stake in these ceremonies? What is their symbolic impact? What do they tell us about the significance of a charter?
