Summary:This article aims to test the effectiveness of using the Problem Solving Methodology in science teachers training courses. The problem situations produced by teachers in the contexts of initial and in-service training are categorized and analyzed. The methodology involved conducting a literature review, conducting teacher training experiences and analysis of the body of information gathered during the courses, as well as problem-situations produced in these contexts. The results show aspects of teacher training for working with teaching strategies as the role of the teacher in the authoring and development problems, pedagogical reasoning, epistemological, psychological preparation for a more structured conceptual basis and strengthening of the teachers’ practical knowledge.
