| Summary: | This article describes the modern situation in environmental consciousness and base to assessment of biological diversity from anthropocentrism (the modern economic theory) and theocentrism (religious philosophy) points of view. On the basis of economic theory we derive scheme for calculating the total economic value of biodiversity and then show the limitations of this method and give the basic religious and moral principles to approach the problem. |
