Summary:The article is devoted to the problem of the formation of reading literacy among students in teaching of the Russian native language in grades 5-9. A system of questions and assignments is proposed based on the methodological recommendations «Formation of reading literacy of primary school students», the goals of teaching B.S. Bloom and the types of tasks. Particular attention is paid to the formation of the cultural competence of students and interest in the Russian language, and through it - Russian culture. To help the teacher develop assignments according to the proposed model based on texts of cultural studies (articles and essays, as well as chapters from books about the Russian language and Russian culture by V.V. Kolesov, D.S. Likhachev, V.G. Kostomarova, E. I. Osetrova) a list of sources is attached.
