Summary: | Aspective and perspective represent two conceptions of the world which at first sight seem incompatible, particularly where the passage of time is concerned : aspective and its predetermination would seem to preclude the very idea of history and chronology with the random events which mark their course. However, despite such a contradiction, it will be shown in this article how Egyptian thought combined and superimposed them together to lead to a great consciousness of History in which the individual, with his own subjective point of view, enjoyed a degree of freedom much more important that is generally admitted. |
