| Summary: | German Morpheme Borrowings in Bosnian Sports Vocabulary. The paper examines adaptations of German morpheme borrowings in the Bosnian language in relation to sports vocabulary. The analysis presents the specifics of such an adaptation in the Bosnian language and indicates the characteristic affixes which enable the morpheme transfer. At the same time, the analysis confirms the implementation of the postulates of Bosnian standardologists regarding the openness of Bosnian to language borrowings and, perhaps above all, the openness to the coexistence of lexical doublets. In the material studied here, this variance refers to the use of different word-formative morphemes (suffixes) with the same root morpheme, consequently resulting in a possibility of a given signifier having two forms.
