description Objectives: A comprehensive study was planned to determine the relationship between quality of life and physical, mental and economic factors of women who live in Ankara and attend to hobby classes. The objective of this pilot study was to evaluate the relationship between dietary intake, body weight and quality of life in women who attend to hobby classes in a small sample. Materials and Methods: This study was conducted on 28 adult women who live in Ankara and attend to hobby classes. Data were collected through a questionnaire face to face. Dietary intake was assessed by food frequency questionnaire. Quality of life was evaluated by Short Form 36 (SF 36) questionnaire. Results: It has been found that participants (48.2±13.44 years) had adequate consumption of dairy products but consumption of other food group remains inadequate. Quality of life has been shown to be affected by body mass index (BMI). Quality of life scores were lower in obese individuals compared to individuals in the overweight and normal weight groups (p>0.050). Individuals with any diagnosed disease (p<0.050) and who do not exercise (p<0.050) had significantly lower quality of life scores. Conclusion: Quality of life is affected by physical and mental health condition and social interaction of individuals including the factors such as diseases, physical activity, nutrition, working conditions and stress level. Dietary intake and phyisical activity of women were insufficient. Also quality of life of these individuals were lower than similar studies in our country. In the view of these findings, the life quality of women will be evaluated in a more comprehensive study including different socio-economic regions and on a larger sample.
