Summary:This article explores the issues of social identity, Late Intermediate Period ethnic groups and sociopolitical divisions in relation to the ceramic traditions observed in southern and central Conchucos. Based on differences in ceramic technology, gendered production and distribution of the ceramic traditions, two sociocultural groups are identified and associated with different factions of the Huari group.
