Summary: |
The research described in the present paper intends to construct a hypermediatic database, so as to support educational activities for communication and other human sciences graduate students regarding the media. We chose the following thematic axis for our research: poverty (and violence, brought about by the Others) versus wealth (and health, success and quality of life to be constructed by the Same). In order to examine such themes, our research consisted in a series of methodological procedures, such as: a) discoursive analyses within the thematic axis; b) counter-reports where scholarship-holders and researchers interviewed (with video recordings) specialists and members of civil society movements; c) organizing the audio-visual texts (analytic texts, counter-reports, videos, general data on weekly media, etc.) in the hypermedia. Our intention is not only counterbalancing mediatic constructions point per point, but also reflecting upon such constructions and show other directions and discoursive constructions, which exist in civil society, particularly in the poor suburbs.
