description Magnetic Resonance Imaging as the name suggests is a technique of obtaining image using magnetic field and resonance of the nucleus. The study done in this paper aims to propose a design and model a low magnetic field Magnetic resonance imaging in which Helmholtz coil plays a vital part. Commercially available machines generally use permanent magnet or superconducting magnet. This magnet has been replaced with Helmholtz coil in the design proposed in this paper. The Helmholtz coil produces a magnetic field of 0.2 T which is also homogenous upto ±2 percent in the region of study. This homogeneity inspired to go for this design. Along with the Helmholtz coil, other necessary coils are gradient coils and radio-frequency coil. Maxwell and Saddle coils are used as gradient coils having a gradient strength of 75 µT/m. The resonating frequency for this magnetic field is 8.526 MHz. A prototype of this machine with scaled low magnetic field is under development.
