Description
Summary:The study aims to identify the aspects of criminal protection for copyright in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the light of Vision 2030, as the Kingdom pays great attention to intellectual property, and the protection of intellectual production is one of the important means to support the enrichment and dissemination of the national cultural heritage, as providing this protection entails encouraging authors to create. Also, encouraging the spread of intellectual creativity can only be achieved by providing effective national protection for the rights of creators. The Saudi regulator has kept pace with the development in the field of intellectual works by establishing legislation to protect the rights of the author on his work, in a manner that achieves the author’s interest by recognizing his financial and moral rights over his mental creativity, and his reassurance of publishing his works without fear of reproducing them without permission. Helping to spread culture and knowledge all over the world. The study relied on the descriptive and analytical approach. It also included three topics in terms of explaining what copyright is, determining the legal nature of copyright, identifying the author’s literary and financial rights, identifying the scope of application, and identifying criminal protection for copyright.
