description Narratological studies dealing with the story itself, the fabula, have become increasingly scarce in recent years, particularly the models describing the categories of action at work in the narrative. By taking up the classic narratological models, we extract the concept of narrative act, "action on an action", as a fundamental element of narrative transformation, and then establish systematically an inventory in the form of a broad typology. This typology is organized into a set of interlocking models, each offering enrichment in the description of the actions of the fabula. More than 600 narrative acts are listed and grouped under about twenty models. In this modeling work, we highlight the narrative nature of the acts, in that they are not merely acts of language or types of actions of an agent in social interaction with its environment. Notably, these narrative acts carry proper narrative characteristics, dilation on the one hand and the mise en abyme of the discourse on the other hand.
