Summary: | The objective of this study is to check how the caatinga-related problems in the dry Northeast, in the 1970s, are handled in Zeferino’s comic strips of Henfil, work published in Fradim magazine. To achieve this purpose, we initially traced a local panorama, considering cultural, physical, ecological and social aspects. Henfil’s humor serves to point out the existing problems in their context and direct this perception to a critical attitude. A single solution is not presented, but an exacerbation of the problem so that it can be used outside of the context in metaphors and through a humor that emerges with the creation of caricatures of reality, making it less unbearable. |
