Sustainable development can be achieved either by utilizing our natural resources more effectively and more efficiently and 'or by converting the so termed waste into wealth. The present contribution is an attempt to explain the ways to understand the nature of waste and to approach for the best suited treatment of the waste so as to ascertain the sustainable development.
