description In the paper, the measurement results of thermo-physical properties of aramid composite used in the construction of individual ballistic protective shields are presented. Thermal characteristics i.e. temperature dependencies of the thermal conductivity, heat capacity and thermal diffusivity were determined on the basis of the tests. Thermal parameters were determined experimentally with the use of the following measurement methods: one-sided and two-sided infrared thermography methods, temperature oscillation technique, three-curve DSC, and the TPMU method. Knowledge of the thermophysical characteristics of the material is important in non-destructive testing of composites by infrared thermography method which will be the subject of further research work.
