Description
Summary:Torben Rølmer Billes Den udkrængede krop – brutale excesser i et filmhistorisk perspektiv. (The body turned inside out Brutal excesses in a film historical perspective). The article discusses the mutability of the body and flesh in the form of its perishability and readiness for destruction. The article delineates the development of the horror genre with special focus on the subgenre called torture porn, which describes the destruction of human flesh. With examples from film history from the 1960s and onward and looking back into the whole history of the genre, the article offers an insight into why the subgenre has taken on its present and popular form.
