description MeshkinChaie watershed basin with an area of 521.9 km2are including some parts of northern slope of Sabalan-Ghusha Dagh and located some parts of the structural subsidence valley of Meshkin-Ahar. According to dominating of semi cold-moist climate with average rainfall of 372.9mm annually, the slope’s almost high gradient slope, and sensitive formation to erosion, caused the study basin area to strongly prone to soil erosion. In addition to in spite to the mentioned natural factors, the effects of human activities (Impact) by changing the land use caused the erosion to be intense in the basin by different ways. The main purpose of this research is to study and recognizing the sediment situation of MeshkinChaie watershed basin in related to effective factors in producing sediment. In this direction, Arc GIS software, Indian satellite pictures (IRS), dates of hydrometric stations, climatology, topographic maps, geology, have been used to do the EPM model. The result of this Study is shows topographic; litology and land use those three important factors s in controlling and intensifying soil erosion. The amount of coefficient of erosion (Z) is number 2, these in formations were enhanced that: The average of total amount of sediment is 10123764 cube meter per year, discharge of special sediment is 19397.9 and special erosions 21553/3, that shows the very intense erosion in the study watershed.
