| description | During the SANA 2 campaign at Melpitz (close to Torgau/Saxonia) in autumn 1991 extensive measurements by filters, an impactor and an aethalometer were made for the characterization of the atmospheric aerosol. A detailed description of the experimental and analytical techniques is followed by an overview of the main results, especially of the chemical composition of the aerosol. It is shown that the properties of the aerosol in the boundary layer depend strongly on the different air masses and stratification of the near-ground atmosphere. |
