Summary: | This is as a result of sociteies taking good care of their health and well-being, this group has become enjoying a good physical, mental, psychological, emotional, and health condition state that allows them to pursue work and giving, which necessitates profiting from them in the light of the abundant experiences they have had acquired in various areas of life and during their previous years of work, and to provide them with the opportunity to contribute to the service and development of their local communities in this critical period during which the world is going through the Corona pandemic (Covid-19). The objectives of the current research have been identified in determining the statistical differences, the correlation between the retired elderly tending to go towards community service and development in light of the Corona pandemic, depending on the study variables (gender - educational level - occupation before retirement - monthly income), it also aimed to identify the relative weights of the fields in which retired elderly members of the sample interested to participate in; for the service and development of society to limit the effects of the Corona pandemic. The results showed statistically significant differences between the average scores from the sample of retired elderly members in their interest towards community service and development in light of the Corona pandemic, according to the study variables, and also the existence of a correlation between the retired elderly attitudes towards community service and development in light of the pandemic and the study variables. The results also showed a difference in the participation rate of influencing factors (educational level - profession before retirement - monthly income) on the elderly’s tending to go towards community service and development, and the difference in the relative weights of the areas in which retired elderly members of the sample interested to participate in community service and development to limit the effects of the pandemic Corona. |
