Description
Summary:This article’s purpose is to demonstrate that the environmental matter promotes a new geopolitics , and that the counties, as a part of the Brazilian federation, are going through some adjustments, specially on what concerns the environmental question, particularly on the amazon. This biome is a worldwide issue, leading Brazil to adopt some politics in order to ensure its preservation and the conservation of its natural resources. Brazilian federation allows it’s counties to also adopt laws about the environment, for this reason, a whole national system has been created to delegate powers to the states and counties. Nevertheless, mostly counties and local powers represent a structural deficiency to create means of surveillance and control. Maps with protected areas and tables with the actions of each county in the amazon are used as methodology to demonstrate the necessity for the society’s participation on the decisions regarding the environment. The study finishes arguing that the new geopolitics on the amazon is made with the creation of enviromental territories and that there is a urgency of technical capacitation to the counties for taking decisions about environment questions.
