| Summary: | The review lists effectiveness studies of couples therapy in clinical practice with obtained for each study effect sizes and percentage of clinically significant change. The problem of lower effect sizes obtained in effectiveness studies compared to efficacy studies using randomized clinical trials for couples therapy is elaborated. This review includes the results of newer studies using routine outcome monitoring for increasing effectiveness of couples therapy. Guidelines and recommendations are formulated for therapists practicing with couples. |
