Description
Summary:Koudryavtcev S, Lazarev VM. Med Devices (Auckl). 2011;4:193–196. At the authors request, the Editor and Publisher of Medical Devices: Evidence and Research wish to retract the published article. Following publication and after the inspection of data archives, the authors determined that the reported findings were no longer reliable. Specifically, the distribution of participants according to gender, blood pressure level and arm circumference was incorrectly determined. The authors also found that after the correction the recalculated mean “device-observer” difference and SD acquired a significant discrepancy with those given in Table 3 and did not provide the previous conclusions. In addition, the authors confirmed that not all the participants signed informed consent forms and no local ethics committee approval was given prior to commencement of the study. The authors requested to retract the article and the Editor agreed with this decision. The authors wish to apologise for any inconveniences caused. We have been informed in our decision-making by our policy on publishing ethics and integrity and the COPE guidelines on retractions. The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as “Retracted”.
