| description | The aim of this work is to give an overview of the impact on crime caused by the Covid pandemic 19. Starting from the analysis of data at international level, particular attention is paid to the situation in Italy in relation to the period March-June 2020, which shows a general decrease in crimes related to robbery, theft, personal injury and homicides, in the face of an increase in cases of Intimate Partner Violence (IVP) and juvenile crime. After having analyzed the characteristics and determinants of this criminological trend, attention is paid to the fact that also on this level the current pandemic crisis has been characterized as a real sindemia, which is capable of further exacerbating inequalities to the detriment of the weaker sections of the population, which means that all the regulatory bodies involved must take greater account of the need to strengthen their action, among other parameters, the socio-demographic profiles of the populations concerned, with particular attention to the protection of the weakest sections of society. |
