Summary:The article discusses the role of the poet, writer, journalist and translator Rinaldo Küfferle (1903–1955) in the distribution of Ivan Bunin’s works in Italy in the 1920s and 1930s. Küfferle’s critical essays about Bunin in Italian literary journals, his translations of Bunin’s poems and short stories, different stages of promotion of the writer's works in Milan publishing houses (a novel “The Life of Arsenyev” and a collection of short stories) are identified and analyzed. The article also provides a number of archival materials on Küfferle’s personal relations with Bunin.
