| Summary: | In this paper the conceptual problems of the influence of karst on runoff were analized, morever the procedures to evaluate the above phenomenon in a quantitative manner, were introduced. Among the main results obtained, same of the most outstanding are. The convenience of the simultaneous use of the different methods proposed. The determination of the azonality index the annual runoff rate, as the best method, to evaluate, indirectly, the types and degrees of karstic influence on surface flow. The effectiveness of the comparative use of the above mentioned index and the Gigineishvilli index, to determine the positive influence of karst, by redistribution of total runoff into the drainage basins. And the evaluation of such issues on karstic basins with hydrometric stations, in the western part of Cuba. |
