Summary:The study examined the primary sources of public health funding in Great Britain. Moreover, the article presents the basic organisational principles of the health system in the country. It points out the advantages and disadvantages of the budget model of health care. It also established that the state budget is not the only source of funding for the National Health Service. A portion of the funds allotted to the implementation of its tasks come from social security contributions.
