Description
Summary:As part of the theoretical framework for the analysis of narratives, this paper intends to demonstrate that the novel by Dany Laferrière, L’Énigme du retour, belongs to a poetics of “memory of the future” while the work by visual artist Myriam Hornard, Ghosts are Guests, embodies a poetics of “memory of oblivion.” Both types of poetics, put forward by critic Jean-François Hamel, reflects the way time is dealt with in postmodern era.
