Description
Summary:Fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) is a chronic pain syndrome characterized by widespread body pain over a long period, the cause of which is not yet clearly known. FMS patients usually have high pain sensitivity. We aimed to investigate whether rs4148855 and rs2288646 polymorphisms of acid-sensing ion channel 3 (ASIC3), one of the factors contributing to pain, cause a predisposition to FMS in the Turkish population.
